Every wrong answer is a signal.

AKT Preparation turns that signal into a targeted follow-up question — then into a confirmed weak topic — then into a flash card. Other question banks show you the answer and move on. This one does not.

The difference between a pass and a fail is often a small number of topics where you thought you understood but did not. The two-strike system surfaces exactly those topics so you can address them before exam day.

AKT Practice · Q12
Respiratory · Asthma Management
A 24-year-old man with a history of asthma presents with worsening symptoms despite using his salbutamol inhaler frequently...
A. Prescribe oral prednisolone
B. Prescribe a LABA inhaler Incorrect
C. Add a low-dose ICS
D. Reassure and review in 4 weeks
ClinicQuest AI

You selected B. LABAs should not be prescribed without an ICS in asthma due to increased risk of severe exacerbations.

Generating targeted remedial question...
STEP 01

Daily topic practice.

Choose a topic from the dashboard grid. Work through questions, rating your confidence. On a correct answer, reveal the explanation and move on.

STEP 02

Remedial queue.

Get a question wrong and a remedial question is automatically queued. It's a fresh clinical scenario probing the exact concept you missed.

STEP 03

Two-strike system.

Get the remedial wrong too, and the topic is flagged as weak. You can then generate an AI flash card directly to Lumina to reinforce the learning.

STEP 04

Mock exams.

Set a timer and number of questions. No explanations during the session to match real conditions. Full 160-question simulations offer percentile benchmarking.

Value Propositions

Why it works better than static drilling.

The adaptive loop. When you answer wrong, the system generates a remedial question. The loop is automatic — you don’t have to configure it.
Weak topic detection. One wrong answer might be a bad day. Two confirm a genuine gap. Weak topics are based on evidence, not guesswork.
AKT Teacher. After every reveal, a chat panel lets you ask why your answer was wrong, or how the guideline applies. Go as deep as the topic warrants.
Flash cards on confirmed weak topics. When a topic is confirmed weak, you can create an AI-generated teaching summary saved directly to Lumina.
Full AKT Simulation. A standardised 160-question, 160-minute session. Compare your score against other trainees via percentiles.
Scope

Where it fits in your study plan.

Where it works well Use it

  • Daily topic practice

Regular revision during the months before the exam.

  • Identifying weak topics

Finding your true knowledge gaps before committing study time to them.

  • Deep-diving answers

Asking follow-up questions mid-revision when an explanation does not land.

  • Simulating exam conditions

Benchmarking readiness against other trainees via the full simulation.

Where it does not fit Alternative needed

  • !
    Last-minute cramming

The adaptive loop takes time to surface genuine gaps.

  • !
    In-depth curriculum reading

Use Lumina Notebooks or published RCGP resources for comprehensive reading.

  • !
    Exam day

This is a study tool, not a clinical reference.

Key message

AKT Preparation is an adaptive learning aid, not a guarantee of passing the AKT. AI-generated remedial questions and flash cards are supplementary learning aids and should not be treated as official RCGP materials.
