Personal development goals, one workspace across every session.

PDP Workspace gives GP trainees one planning surface for goals, learning needs, action plans, target dates, success evidence, and review reflection. It sits inside Portfolio, but PDP goals stay separate from portfolio entries and each goal carries a training-session tag.

Use the PDP tab to add, delete, complete, or retag goals. Open the dedicated PDP Ask Agent thread when you want to refine the plan, review progress, or make confirmed edits in the live planner beside the chat.

STEP 01

Start from the current session.

Open the PDP tab from Portfolio. Current-session goals appear first, with older session goals visible as editable session-tagged history.

STEP 02

Add or refine goals.

Capture the title, learning need, action plan, target date, success evidence, review reflection, and status directly in the workspace.

STEP 03

Ask Agent.

Use the dedicated PDP thread to tighten wording, review progress, or confirm changes. The chat planner supports edits, status changes, and session moves.

STEP 04

Review and retag.

When your training context changes, complete or reopen goals, or move a goal to the session it now belongs to. Nothing is rolled over automatically.

Value Propositions

Why use PDP Workspace?

+
One global PDP workspace. Goals stay together across ST1, ST2, ST3, or custom sessions, while clear session tags keep the context visible.
+
Manual plus agent editing. Add, edit, complete, retag, or delete goals yourself, or ask the PDP Ask Agent to help refine confirmed learning needs, action plans, and success evidence.
+
Editable previous-session history. Older goals remain visible and editable as session-tagged history. They are not carried forward or duplicated into new sessions.
+
Hard limits. Keep the PDP focused with five total goals and six training sessions per user.
Scope

What belongs here

Where it works well Use it

  • +
    Session goal planning

Turn a broad learning need into a concrete action plan with a date and success evidence.

  • +
    Mid-session review

Check which goals are still open, what evidence exists, and what needs tightening before supervision.

  • +
    Agent-supported reflection

Use the PDP Ask Agent for reflective wording and confirmed goal updates, while keeping manual add and delete controls in the PDP tab.

Practical Limits

  • !
    Trainee-only

PDP Workspace is available to GP trainee profiles. It is not a trainer or general CPD workspace.

  • !
    Five goals total

The workspace keeps PDP planning focused. Open and completed PDP goals both count toward the five-goal limit.

  • !
    Six training sessions

Training sessions are capped at six per user. Manage sessions from the Portfolio dashboard, not the PDP agent.

  • !
    No rollover model

Previous-session goals stay editable where they are. Session tags replace carry-forward, rollover, and moved-goal sections.

  • !
    Not an ePortfolio replacement

It helps you prepare and organise PDP work. Official review, sign-off, and submission still sit outside ClinicQuest.

Key message

PDP Workspace is for professional development and portfolio reflection support. It is not clinical decision support, trainer sign-off, or a replacement for FourteenFish or the RCGP ePortfolio.

Credits

What it costs.

Manual PDP management
0 credits

Add, edit, complete, delete, and session retagging use no credits.

PDP Ask Agent
~1-4 credits

Dedicated PDP chat uses normal Portfolio Mode chat credits per assistant turn.

Agent-side goal creation, edits, moves, completions, or deletions happen inside a charged PDP Ask Agent turn because they are part of the chat response.

Keep PDP work tied to the session.

Open the PDP tab when you want the plan, the evidence, and the review trail in one place.
